Checkmate Challenge: Battle of the Minds

“Chess teaches us that every move matters. In life, like in chess, strategy, patience, and foresight lead us to victory.”

On April 26, 2025, Carmel Convent Senior Secondary School hosted an engaging Inter-House Chess Competition that showcased the strategic abilities of students across various grade levels. The competition involved participants from classes 3 to 12, divided into categories: Classes 9-12, Classes 6-8, and Classes 3-5. Representing their respective houses—Esher, Lumen, Candor, and Shalom—students displayed impressive skills and sportsmanship throughout the matches. Mr. Vinit served as the host for the event, ensuring smooth proceedings and a supportive atmosphere.

Overall, the event celebrated not only the spirit of competition but also the camaraderie among students, serving as a reminder of the importance of critical thinking and teamwork in both chess and school life.
